Things to do in Central Indiana-Indianapolis Art Museum


There is so much to see and do at the Art Museum , I'm going to split it up on several posts. Today let's concentrate on the grounds & gardens. They are incredible and FREE! You can go in walk, picnic, etc . They have guided garden walks which are really informative-they tell you about the creation of the gardens by the original owners of what was called "Oldfields", Hugh & Jessie Walker Landon. Later the estate was sold to the Lilly family who eventually deeded it to the city for use as a museum. You can tour Oldfields too. We went at Christmas when they had it decorated for the holidays and they had luminaries in the gardens-so beautiful!
